Yay! Look What Karrie Made!

We're a little behind schedule this month--thanks to me and my slow mailing of Karrie's kit, but I'm proud to show off
Karrie Cook
and her wonderful creations!

Karrie is a dear soul I met more than a year ago online who has been a constant source of support and encouragement to me as I've tried to get my little web biz off the ground!
She is a positive, loving, caring friend and her creations are amazing!

Here's more about Karrie:

1) Tell us a little about you--where did you grow up, about your family, how'd you end up where you live now, do you have a career?

I grew up in Kansas City, MO.  I went to college there and worked for an investment firm for 11 years before following my husband's career to MN where we lived for 6 years and had two boys.  Robert's job eventually took us to central Ohio where we currently live.  We've been married for 20 wonderful years and I am currently a stay at home mom to Kemper (11) and Griffin (7).

2) When and how did you get into papercrafting?

I've always been a crafter of many different mediums (props to mom for that!).  I started card making when I moved to MN and was introduced to Stampin' Up!.  I resisted scrapbooking for many years, but finally caved after our first son was born.  I can't imagine NOT scrapping, now.

3) What inspires you or gets your 'juices" flowing?

Nothing insprires me more than a great kit.  I rarely buy anything on my own and only subscribe to monthly kits.  I like the surprise I get on my doorstep each month.  Often I receive products I would never chose for myself.  This really forces me out of my box and I always love the end result.  If I'm still stuck, I'm a sucker for a good sketch.

4) What is the "down side", if any, of our hobby in your opinion? What is the best part?

I'm really having a hard time scrapping this summer.  I have yet to figure out a good system to scrap by the pool!  One of the greatest perks to scrapping, other than having a fantastic legacy to leave my kids, is all the amazing people I have met both near and far.

5) If you could go anywhere/do anything and then capture the memories, where would you go and how would you show off your memories?

A couple of years ago, I made several dives in Tukes & Caicos..  Truly one of the best places I have ever been diving.  I saw a ton of sharks and even had a very rare momma whale and baby sighting.  The whole experience was incredible and I wish I had a good underwater camera to capture it because I know it was a once in a lifetime experience and I wanted to be able to share it with my kids.  Those photos would have made a wonderful mini album, perhaps in the shape of a whale!

Here's the kit I sent to Karrie to play with:

And look at all the fun stuff she made for us!

I can't thank Karrie enough for taking time away from her kidlets just when school got out to help me!
XOXO

Thanks so much, ladies! This was such an awesome kit to work with. I love how the movie theme papers were two sided, so there is a lot of versatility with this wonderful kit.
