This month Kandis Smith from Idaho Falls graces us as one of our April Guest Designers and I could not be more proud to "show her off".
I have long admired Kandis' cards in many magazines and her weekly creations at CPS Blog.
So when SHE actually wanted to try out for our guest design team I was "over the moon" with excitement!

Here's a bit more about Kandis in her own words:
I’ve been scrapbooking/cardmaking for 9 years now and I never dreamed it would become such a large part of my life these last couple years. My obsession with paper has been evident since elementary school when I would hoard scraps of construction paper in my desk until my teacher made me clean it out! I still have a paper problem—I have more than I’ll ever be able to use!
I love the feeling I get when I give someone a handmade card and they truly enjoy it. There’s something about making that card especially for them and putting your time and creativity into it that makes me proud to give them away. Scrapbooking has really made a difference in my life as well. I’m horrible at journaling and this gives me the chance to write down those little conversations and moments that I might forget. I jump from style to style, but I mostly gravitate towards bright colors and bulky embellishments!
I’ve been blessed with a wonderful husband of 6 years who has given me two beautiful boys, Logan and Landen. We’ve settled in Idaho Falls, Idaho where we are surrounded by family and friends.
1) Tell us a little about you--where did you grow up, about your family, how'd you end up where you live now, do you have a career?
2) When and how did you get into papercrafting?
3) What inspires you or gets your 'juices" flowing?
4) What is the "down side", if any, of our hobby in your opinion? What is the best part?
Oooooo, a tough one. The only downside, I think, would be that I can't sleep at night because I have too many ideas floating around in my head. I can't shut off my brain! THe best part is enjoying my creations. My poor mother and sister always have to look through all my scrapbooks and recent cards so that I have someone to appreciate them!
5) If you could go anywhere/do anything and then capture the memories, where would you go and how would you show off your memories?
Look how cute and clean her craft space is!

Here are a few photos of the kit I sent to Kandis to play with:
And look at the gorgeous cards Kandis created with this kit!

I adore Kandis' use of layering and she always finds a unique and darling way to use her buttons and ribbon!
You can follow Kandis on her blog My Creative Treasury and on the Card Positioning Systems blog where she is on the design team!
A big HUGE hug and thank you to Kandis for joining us this month!!!

Kandis: I don't know how to contact you, but I have a question for you regarding the card you had published in the June 2009 Cards magazine (card called Happy Birthday). It says you used Hero Arts stamps(small owl and birdie), but I have searched Hero Arts stamps endlessly and cannot find these stamps ANYWHERE! Can you PLEASE help me. I am UMCScrappinMama@aol.com and I would greatly appreciate your help if you see this. You are very creative, and I appreciate your inspiration. Thanks, Karen
